The Padres also scored on two Cameron Maybin singles, Jesus Guzman's double and another Venable double. New York knocked in two runs during the bottom of the sixth on David Wright's home run to inch within three runs.

Baltimore fell 6-5 in a rubber match versus the 22-22 Boston Red Sox. Wilson Betemit and Chris Davis sacrifice flies scored the first and last run for the Orioles who also struck during the second and sixth inning on Nick Johnson home runs.
